The
water in the crest represents the Six Mile
River which rises near Ballyboley and
flows through Ballyclare to enter Lough
Neagh at Antrim. The settlement grew up at
a crossing place .
There
was once a corn mill Where the Main Street
crosses the river at the Bridge. This
image now represents the industry which
spread in the area in the nineteenth
century and today includes more hi tech
firms which took the place of the Paper
Mill .
The
third image is a reminder that this is an
area of fertile land which has been farmed
for generations
